| Company Information :: History of CCI | |
Founded 1969 When, in 1969, Kay Dawson was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, she
was forced to quit her current job and take a position at Wichita Word
Processing. Five years later Wichita Word Processing was about to close
their doors for good. Instead of changing careers again, Kay bought the
company for an unbelievable $700. In 1974, Kay Dawson was the owner and only employee of Wichita Word
Processing. She specialized in letters and resumes. In a few years her
dedication to quality and customer satisfaction brought a volume of work
that soon reached 500,000 pieces per year. From Wichita Word Processing
was born Contemporary Communications, Inc. Kay's determination to stay
ahead of both her competitors and technology has kept her on top of what
has become the largest direct mail company in the region. By continually
adding new equipment and people
to keep up with the demands of her clients she has created a company
that now boasts several million pieces mailed every month. Kay Dawson and CCI are known as true innovators in the direct mail
industry. Just ask her clients, some of whom have been with CCI for more
than 30 years.
