Join Us In Our Celebration
2004 marks our 30th year in the direct mail industry and you're invited to join CCI for a special celebration January 16, 2004. We are pleased to be one of the few companies that can claim success for 30 years. That's an honor reserved for only those companies that are able to balance technology, quality, customer service and profitability.

CCI is proud of our facility, employees and success and we'd like you to commemorate this anniversary with us at a very exclusive open house. Refreshments, including wine and cheese, will be served, and there will be gifts and prizes. While you're here, take a look around at the latest services and technology available to direct marketers.

We hope you'll join us. Please RSVP by calling 800-279-2505 or email salesstaff@mailcci.com, then come to the CCI 2004 Open House January 16 from 4 pm to 7 pm.

Self-Mailers Done Right
Self-mailers are popular since they are simple and inexpensive to produce. But many direct mailers do not realize that a simple design change can further decrease their costs and boost a self-mailer's quality. How you fold a self-mailer, believe it or not, is important.

A seemingly minor detail like folding the mailer so the opening is at the top, or folding it with the opening at the bottom, is a very important decision. Self-mailers with an opening at the bottom require 2 tabs (wafer seals) to qualify for automation postage discounts. While a self-mailer that opens at the top requires only one tab to qualify for automation rates. A simple fold change cuts the tabbing costs in half.

But that's not all. Many mailers do not consider USPS equipment when making design decisions. That too, can be costly, in lost response. While USPS handling is usually both efficient and non-destructive, the fact remains that some mail pieces fare better through the USPS process than others. And self-mailers that are open at the bottom have a better chance at being damaged in the mail stream than do self-mailers that open at the top.
